The Mariposa Arts Council, in partnership with Mariposa County and Toole Design, is seeking a local artist to create original digital artwork pieces for use in project materials related to the County’s Mariposa Town Transit and Economic Development Initiative.

The Mariposa Town Transit and Economic Development Initiative is exploring ways to support Downtown Mariposa through improvements to transit, parking, walking connections, and wayfinding. The final project will include recommendations to help residents and visitors better access and enjoy downtown.

The selected artist will work with the project team to create 4–6 original digital artwork pieces that reflect Mariposa’s landscapes, history, culture, and community character. These may include illustrations or artistic interpretations of Downtown Mariposa landmarks, landscapes, streetscapes, or community destinations. The project team will provide background materials, community engagement findings, and guidance on the project’s visual style.

The selected artist will receive a stipend of $2,500 for creating the artwork package, participating in project coordination meetings, and completing up to one round of revisions.
