A Fourth of July celebration with barbecue, live music, kids’ activities, pets, contests and a waterfront fireworks view is coming to Bass Lake this summer.
The annual Flip Flops & Fireworks BBQ will be held Saturday, July 4, from 7 to 10 p.m. at Marina Bar & Grill, located at 54406 Road 432 in Bass Lake. Doors open at 6:30 p.m.
The family-friendly event will feature live music by Wild Hare Band, whose music spans rock, pop, Motown, funk, disco, country, oldies, jazz, blues and today’s hits. Guests can also enjoy a Kids Corner, face painting, a balloon artist, photo booth, fireworks and more, all included in the ticket price.
The evening will also include several contests, including a Most Patriotic Costume Contest for children and adults, a Pet Costume Contest and Flamingo Bingo with prizes.
Dinner will be served as part of the event, with a barbecue-style menu that includes appetizers, salads, pulled pork sliders, smoked BBQ brisket, barbecue chicken, garlic butter shrimp, vegetarian baked beans, seasonal vegetables, white cheddar macaroni and cheese, rolls and patriotic sheet cake. Alcoholic beverages are sold separately.
Pets are welcome, and organizers encourage guests to bring their furry friends. The event will include water bowls and beef doggy patties for dogs.
According to event organizers, Marina Bar & Grill offers a waterfront view of the Bass Lake fireworks show. Guests will also be allowed to move toward the front deck or ramp area for an improved view, and umbrellas will be removed to help keep the fireworks view unobstructed.
Tickets are sold by table, with gratuity included. Children count toward table capacity unless they are under 2 years old. Limited individual bar seating is available for guests 21 and older.
