The Hutchinson Fire started just before noon on March 24, 2026 and is located approximately 2.5 miles northeast of Sanford, TX. The fire was initially responded to by local fire departments. Texas A&M Forest Service was requested to provide assistance in the form of additional firefighters, aircraft and heavy equipment. 

Aviation resources are currently over the fire. On the ground resources are currently engaged on the left flank of the fire. 

 Evacuations were in effected but are CURRENTLY LIFTED for the following area: residents in the area of FM 687 between the Dam and Charles Hard Lane (Rockin' 22 area).
