
PORTERVILLE, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – Two people were arrested for their involvement in an armed robbery of a mini mart early Friday morning, Porterville police said.
Officers were called to the Sierra Minit Mart on Newcomb Street, near Olive Avenue, after being told that two male subjects entered the business, brandished guns at the clerk, and demanded money before leaving with an undisclosed amount of cash.
Follow-up investigation led police to a 16-year-old boy and 18-year-old Michael Thomas Monson, both of Hanford.
The pair was located in Porterville and arrested. Additionally, detectives also served a search warrant at a Porterville home and said they collected evidence related to the robbery.
Monson was booked into the South County Detention Facility on suspicion of three related counts and had a warrant out for his arrest. The juvenile suspect was booked into the Juvenile Detention Facility.
