Southwest winds of 20 to 25 mph with gusts approaching 40 mph will continue late Thursday afternoon with relative humidity values in the upper teens. Southwest winds will lower to 15 to 20 mph from 7 to 8 PM with gusts subsiding. Relative humidity will only rise into the 30s toward midnight with poor recoveries through daybreak.

A Red Flag Warning in now in effect from 11 AM Thursday morning to 8 PM tonight. A Red Flag Warning means that critical fire weather conditions are either occurring now or will shortly. A combination of strong winds, low relative humidity and warm temperatures will create favorable weather for rapid fire growth and spread. Avoid activities that promote open flames and sparks. Any fires that develop will have the potential to spread rapidly.
