FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A man was arrested in Fresno on Monday after allegedly assaulting, following and shooting at two victims on Sunday, the Fresno Police Department announced.
On Sunday, officers responded to a shots-fired call near First Street and Clinton Avenue, where they contacted two victims who said the incident began at a business near First Street and Belmont Avenue.
Police say the suspect, identified as 29-year-old Rudy Aaron Molano, exited the business while making eye contact with one of the victims before punching him. The victim attempted to defend himself, but Molano reportedly brandished a gun before driving away.
The victims said they later noticed Molano was following them as they drove down First Street, near Tulare Street. The victims attempted to make a U-turn to avoid Molano, and as their vehicle passed the suspect’s vehicle, Molano fired three to four rounds at the victims.
After authoring a Ramey warrant for Molano’s arrest, police say they tracked down Molano to a home on Holloway Avenue, near Church Street. Authorities surrounded the home, and after an extended period of negotiating, Molano exited without incident.
After detectives conducted a search warrant, they reported finding ammunition consistent with the ammunition utilized during the initial shooting.
Fresno Police report Molano was ultimately booked into the Fresno County Jail on multiple charges related to the shooting.
