
TULARE COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A 90-year-old man is dead following a crash early Monday morning on the road between Springville and Porterville, according to the California Highway Patrol.
Officers say they were alerted to the two-vehicle crash at around 7:30 a.m., sending them to the scene on Highway 190, east of Success Valley Drive.
Officers determined that a 90-year-old man, driving a Honda Pilot, was going westbound on Highway 190 with a 79-year-old woman also in the vehicle. Both were from Springville.
At the same time, a 20-year-old man was driving a 2019 GMC 2500 eastbound on Highway 190. The GMC drifted into the opposite lane, where it collided head-on with the Honda.
The 90-year-old driver of the Honda was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash and the passenger was taken to the hospital. The driver of the GMC received minor injuries.
The identities of those involved have not been officially released.
