Suspected DUI driver crashes in Fresno canal

FRESNO, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – A suspected DUI driver was arrested after crashing his vehicle into a Fresno canal Sunday evening, the Fresno Police Department announced.

Police say just after 8 p.m., they responded to a report of a vehicle that crashed into a canal near First Street and McKinley Avenue.

Responding officers reported an SUV had crashed into a canal. Officers say the canal had very little water in it at the time.

Investigators report the driver was contacted and found to be under the influence. The driver was not injured.

Fresno Police report the man, believed to be in his 60s, was arrested on a charge of DUI.
