FRESNO COUNTY, Calif. (KSEE/KGPE) – The man who was an Army National Guardsman who died on Sunday morning following a crash in the foothills of Fresno County has been identified by the coroner’s office.
The Fresno County Coroner’s Office identified him as 27-year-old David Solomon of Clovis.
Just after 9 a.m. on Sunday, the California Highway Patrol was alerted by members of the Army National Guard that they had located an overturned black sedan at Tollhouse Road and Van Fleet.
They identified the man inside the car as a coworker and said he was expected to show up to work, but when he didn’t arrive, they went looking for him.
CHP said the driver, who has now been identified as Solomon, was traveling eastbound on Tollhouse Road when his vehicle left the roadway and hit a tree and overturned.
The vehicle landed upside down on the south side of Tollhouse Road in a dry creek bed.
Once emergency personnel arrived at the scene and were able to reach Solomon, who died.
It is unknown how long it was until the sedan was located and when the crash happened.
