OAKHURST, CA – On September 12th, the tranquility of Riverstone was disrupted by news of a significant theft. This incident left not only the construction crew in disarray but also raised concerns among the residents about the safety of their neighborhood.

As investigations began, the Riverstone community’s commitment to leveraging modern technology came into play. Security cameras installed throughout the area proved invaluable. They captured footage of a suspect vehicle—an unassuming white Toyota Tacoma that had been seen lingering near the construction site shortly before the theft occurred. Identifying this vehicle marked the first breakthrough in the case.

Through diligent detective work, authorities traced the Tacoma back to 49-year-old Mark Holloway, a Fresno resident with a history of theft-related offenses. More alarming was the fact that Holloway already had an active warrant out for his arrest, which only added urgency to the situation.

Just twelve days later, on September 24th, detectives, with the assistance of the Madera Special Enforcement Team (MADSET), executed a search warrant at Holloway’s Fresno residence. The operation unfolded smoothly, and Holloway was apprehended without incident. During the search, law enforcement recovered an additional $1,800 worth of stolen fencing materials, indicating that Holloway may have been involved in a series of similar thefts that had gone unreported.

In the wake of the arrest, the Madera County Sheriff’s Office urged community members to remain vigilant. They requested that anyone who might have had fencing stolen in the last 48 hours reach out to Madera County Sheriff’s Dispatch at (559) 675-7770. The successful resolution of this case underscored the importance of community awareness and cooperation with law enforcement, reinforcing a renewed sense of security among the residents of Riverstone.

As the dust settled on this unfortunate event, residents felt a collective sense of relief knowing that their vigilance and technological resources had played a crucial role in bringing the suspect to justice. The incident served as a reminder that communities united can deter crime and ensure a safer environment for all.
