The Friendly Visitor Program is a free service offered to the senior members (+65yrs) of our community who are struggling with isolation and lack of social supports. Through this program, we hope to reduce depression and isolation while increasing community engagement and socialization.
Participants:
- 65 years old or older
- Are experiencing isolation or depression
- Would like company weekly
- Would enjoy monthly mixers at Mariposa County Health & Human Services with other participants
Volunteers
- Must be 18 years old or older
- Available weekly for at least an hour for a visit
- Seeking to gain volunteer experience
- Interested in making a difference in someone’s life
