Volunteers will meet at Fresno Flats Historic Village & Park to sign in, greeted by hot coffee and fresh pastries provided by Bee’s Bakery Cafe, before heading out to pick up trash along the Oakhurst River Parkway Trail and the South Shore of Bass Lake. A free shuttle, provided by Discover Yosemite, will transport a portion of the volunteers to and from the Bass Lake Location. All necessary materials, including dumpsters, gloves, trash bags, and trash pickers, will be supplied by EMADCO Disposal Services and the Yosemite Climbing Association.

Everyone will reconvene at Fresno Flats Historic Village & Park to weigh the trash collected and enjoy an exclusive volunteer raffle with fantastic prizes donated by local businesses and restaurants. After the morning’s efforts, volunteers are invited to celebrate environmental stewardship at an after-party at the Wine Bar at Queen’s Inn by the River. Light hors d’oeuvres from Idle Hour Winery & Kitchen and craft beer from South Gate Brewing Co. will be served. Thanks to the generous support of local sponsors, the Oakhurst Facelift® continues to grow as a celebration of stewardship and community pride.

“Last year, we were so impressed by how the town of Oakhurst showed up. Kids, parents, grandparents, service groups, local law enforcement, and business owners all rolled up their sleeves and picthed in.” Expressed Brooke Smith, Director of Sales for Visit Yosemite | Madera County. She continued, “We have huge raffle prizes to give out, and a really special celebration afterwards. This is the type of event that makes you proud to live and play in the mountains. We hope anyone interested will register today, or get in touch with questions.”

Register online to volunteer and help beautify the trails and shorelines of Yosemite’s Southern Gateway for everyone to enjoy. Participation in Oakhurst Facelift® is FREE, and all ages and groups are welcome.
