COARSEGOLD, CA – The Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians Tribe, through the Chukchansi Economic Development Authority (CEDA), has donated $10,000 to support the inaugural Coarsegold Harvest Rodeo, set for Saturday, October 25, at the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds. This contribution builds on the excitement of the Chukchansi Gold Casino’s Rough Stock Buck & Bash, held in September. Rodeo Contractor Rockin’ M Rodeo Company brought cowboys from all over to compete and celebrate western heritage in the Sierra foothills.

“The Chukchansi Gold Rough Stock Buck & Bash was a tremendous success that showcased both the thrill of rodeo and the support of our customers and the community,” said Tribal Council Chairwoman Tracey Hopkins of the Picayune Rancheria of the Chukchansi Indians. “The opportunity to support by way of a sponsorship to The Coarsegold Rodeo’s Harvest Rodeo, only strengthens lasting partnerships for the future. This is exactly the kind of spirit we want to encourage and invest in”

Organized through a partnership between Veater Ranch and the Coarsegold Rodeo Grounds, the Harvest Rodeo reflects a shared passion for western heritage and the belief that local businesses and organizations are stronger when they stand together.

“This event hopefully will be one of many partnerships supporting businesses in our community through Rodeo” Chairwoman Hopkins said. “It is about honoring our traditions, supporting families, and building lasting bonds of community. The Tribe is proud that our Economic Development Authority could help make it possible.”

The Harvest Rodeo will feature bronc riding, bull riding, barrel racing, mutton bustin’, and more, alongside a vendor marketplace, food trucks, and family activities, including a pumpkin patch. Guests will also enjoy an after-party concert included with admission.

Investing in Community, Not Competition

The theme of “community over competition” has been central to planning both the Buc N Bash and the Harvest Rodeo. By bringing together multiple partners, the events showcase how local ranchers, businesses, and organizations can work together to create opportunities for all.

“As a Tribe, we believe deeply in uplifting one another’s success,” Chairwoman Hopkins said. “That is what these rodeos represent, the idea that when we come together, everyone benefits. This is exactly the kind of spirit we want to encourage and invest in.”

The $10,000 sponsorship is part of the Tribe’s broader commitment to strengthening the Central Valley through education, public safety, cultural initiatives, and family-focused events. Over the years, the Tribe has contributed millions to nonprofits, schools, and community partners.

“Supporting events like the Rough Stock Buck & Bash and the Harvest Rodeo is one more way to say: we are in this together,” Chairwoman Hopkins added.
